I’m Tessa. I have spent the past two years up to my elbows in flour and water, churning fire and crisp loaves of sourdough. I have just recently relocated to Oakland, CA from beautiful Sonoma County. As I readjust my mind and hands to life away from all things pastoral, I will be writing about food, farming, and adjusting to life in the city. A whole new chaos.
The Midnight Egg is part of a title of a M.F.K. Fisher story about late-night comforting revivers. When I found her writing a few years ago, I felt I had come across something deeply special. Her writing about food blended seamlessly with her literature and stories. Thus began my journey into food, writing and baking. Books have been my talismans. Their feel, smell and touch are as comforting as a favorite meal. I hold them both tight to my chest.
